Daniel Cormier anticipates Conor McGregor's frustration over delays in securing spot on UFC event: "They will not have anywhere to put him"
Daniel Cormier believes MMA megastar Conor McGregor is in for a prolonged streak of frustration.
It has been over three years since 'The Notorious' has fought. He was last seen against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, during which he suffered a leg break, which necessitated a long recovery.
While McGregor was originally supposed to make his grand return to the octagon against Michael Chandler on June 30 at UFC 303, a toe injury forced the Irishman out of the event.
Even though the UFC would be salivating at the prospect of rebooking the match-up for later in the year, it might not be that simple. Cormier for one is convinced that the world's premier MMA promotion doesn't have many McGregor-worthy fight cards coming up soon.
The former two-division champion believes delays in finding a spot for his octagon return are bound to leave the Irishman frustrated. Speaking to Chael Sonnen on Good Guy / Bad Guy podcast, DC' said:
"Conor McGregor will get increasingly annoyed with the UFC because they will not have anywhere to put him. That's my prediction. He will want to fight... but as you know, fight cards fill up, and Conor McGregor can't just be dropped to any fight card. Whereas New York may be a great place to put McGregor [but] you can't put him on the same card as Jon Jones and Stipe [Miocic]."
Cormier added:
"So he will have to find a place to fight... As time goes on, because he will want to get back to that guy, that guy that lives in front of that red light, that guy that gets to shine on the grandest stage of all... because of that, I believe Conor McGregor will get increasingly annoyed."

When Conor McGregor dropped probable date for UFC return
While the UFC is yet to announce a new date for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, the Irishman has a potential timeline in mind.
During a backstage interview with SevereMMA at Bellator Championship Series Dublin, 'The Notorious' gave an update on his injured toe and potential comeback date, saying:
"I'm hoping [the UFC will create a new date for me] so. As soon as I can. August, September. August [or] September I'd love. You know how it is. I'm in recovery, three weeks to the day. It happened three weeks ago today and I'm still here rocking around with the slippers... I can't get into a shoe yet."
