Daniel Cormier breaks down the controversial Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev decision

After the controversial ending to UFC 282, Daniel Cormier took some time to address the Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev decision. He insisted that following such a great night of fights, the main event was unsatisfying.

The event was stacked from top to bottom and it was a show where, throughout the night, viewers got to witness finishes in 10 straight bouts. Ilia Topuria's domination of Bryce Mitchell, Raul Rosas Jr.'s debut submission victory, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik's 20-second win were, arguably, the stand-out performances.

Giving his immediate thoughts on the draw that occurred in the main event at UFC 282, Daniel Cormier reiterated his thoughts that Magomed Ankalaev should have rightfully been crowned the new light heavyweight champion on Saturday night.

"We're wrapping up UFC 282: Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev and what can I say? Unsatisfied is what I'm gonna call the end to the night. It was a fun night of fights, you know. We started with 10 straight finishes and then we got to the Paddy Pimblett fight and we got to the Ankalaev/Blachowicz main event that ended in the way that it did... Going after the fifth round, I felt pretty certain that Magomed Ankalaev had won the fight... It was a fun fight, especially the first three rounds. Those guys were just standing and striking."

The heavy-hitting Poland native took to the mic afterwards to state that his opponent should have gotten his hands raised, agreeing with what Joe Rogan and 'DC' claimed earlier.

Despite the controversy surrounding the finish, it was Paddy Pimblett's win over Jared Gordon that caused the biggest stir. The majority of the MMA fanbase felt that the Brit should have lost.

Check out what Daniel Cormier had to say about the aftermath of Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282 in the video below.

With Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev failing to capture the throne, who's next in line for title shot?

The light heavyweight division has been a confusing weight class since Jiri Prochazka was forced to vacate his title due to an injury. That remained the same after the Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev draw.

Following the 205lb main event, which ended in a draw, Dana White announced that instead of booking an immediate rematch, he would pit two more fighters together for the next title fight.

Glover Teixeira will now get his chance to reclaim UFC gold in his home country of Brazil. But in his way stands the dangerous, hungry, and Contender Series prospect, Jamahal Hill.
