Daniel Cormier responds to Derrick Lewis' surprising "sc*mbag" comment: "I was pretty hard on him"
Given that Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis have a history of targeting one another, it seems their conflict has resurfaced. Following Lewis' scathing comments directed at him, Cormier recently shared his perspective.
For context, Lewis was asked about his next possible opponent during the UFC Edmonton media day. In response, 'The Black Beast' named Cormier and expressed his desire for a rematch with his former foe. The 39-year-old took a dig at the Hall of Famer, saying:
''Probably DC. Because that one still doesn't sit right with me, man. Do people really like DC like that? C'mon, man. I told DC to his face that he's a piece of sh*t. He's a piece of sh*t sc*mbag, man. F**k DC."
Lewis had the following response when questioned about why he called out Cormier:
''He knows why. DC knows why. Everyone knows why- he disrespected Popeyes chicken, but other than that, he's a piece of sh*t."

''I haven't seen him [Lewis] for a while but I was pretty hard on him about retiring because he had lost a couple fights and I was kind of telling the truth and he seemed mad at me. But I haven't seen him, I'm going to see him this weekend...he might be a little pi**ed at me maybe because of the way I talked about him.''
