Danny Kingad guarantees fight vs Adriano Moraes will be 'explosive' even without a finish: "Three rounds of war"
Danny Kingad is indeed training for three rounds of war with former MMA foe Adriano Moraes.
The Filipino striker wants nothing more than to prove he's worthy of a world title opportunity on November 8 at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug. The anticipated rematch between Kingad and Moraes has been long overdue and is one that will surely make the fans stand on their feet.
Kingad, specifically, believes he can outstrike and outmatch Moraes even if it comes down to the judges' decision.
In an MMA exclusive with Sportskeeda, 'The King' revealed what fans can expect upon his return at ONE 169:
"Fans should expect an explosive fight. If the knockout doesn't come, you will see three rounds of war from bell to bell. But I'll do my best to get a knockout.
Danny Kingad is one of the longest-tenured athletes in the flyweight division. He started his ONE journey in April 2016, destroying opponents with his kung-fu fighting style and incredible stamina.
However, his three-fight streak ended when he lost his bid for the world title against former divisional king Adriano Moraes in his home backyard of the Philippines.
"I haven't gotten one yet" - Danny Kingad is still gunning for a highlight-reel finish if everything goes according to plan
Danny Kingad might be satisfied with a decision, but he still has his heart set on that highlight-reel finish.
It's been seven years since Kingad scored his last knockout. It was his debut fight against Muhumad Haidar back in 2016. Later that year, 'The King' showed he was also a strong grappler after finishing fellow countrymate Eugene Toquero with a first-round submission.
But, truth be told, it's been a long time since those early glory days. The competition is only getting stronger from here, so Kingad has a lot of work ahead if he intends to find another KO finish.
"I want that highlight-reel knockout. I haven't gotten one yet."
ONE 167: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug will air live on November 8 in Bangkok, Thailand, via Prime Video in North America.
