Danny Kingad says Adriano Moraes could take more cautious approach against Demetrious Johnson in trilogy fight
On May 5, Demetrious Johnson will defend his ONE flyweight world championship for the first time since capturing gold in an epic rematch with division rival Adriano Moraes. With the flyweight superstars tied 1-1, they’ll battle it out once and for all in a highly anticipated trilogy bout at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.
Everyone is buzzing over what could be the biggest fight in ONE Championship history this spring. Ahead of the ONE world title showdown, flyweight contender Danny Kingad shared his thoughts on how Adriano Moraes will approach things in their rubber match:
“Adriano [Moraes], I think, should make the adjustments with his ground game... In their last fight, we saw him get cut by 'DJ’'s elbows. That's where I saw 'DJ’s advantage. Adriano got a bit disappointed when he was cut during the previous match. I think he will be more careful on the ground.”
Kingad is plenty familiar with both the reigning and former flyweight world champions, having shared the circle with them previously. As the No. 3 ranked contender in the division, ‘The King’ will have his eyes on the ONE Fight Night 10 headliner as he attempts to fight his way towards a world title opportunity.
