Danny Kingad says Demetrious Johnson’s skills are what separates him from the competition
Flyweight contender 'The King' Danny Kingad is highly impressed with the work of all-time MMA great 'Mighty Mouse' Demetrious Johnson. The Filipino-born fighter may be looking for a showdown against the flyweight world champion in the future.
In Danny Kingad's next bout, he will face the streaking Eko Roni Saputra. The fight is set for ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, which will go down on February 24 at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium. All the action will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.
With a win, 'The King' will move a step closer to potentially fighting for the world title held by Demetrious Johnson. Regarding a possible matchup with the ONE flyweight world champion, Kingad told The MMA Superfan:
"As for DJ, he’s a really open-minded fighter once he’s inside the cage. His thought process inside the cage is really broad. He may not be that strong on the ground or with his strikes, but he’s extremely technical."

Demetrious Johnson's next fight in ONE Championship
While Danny Kingad will be competing just around the corner on February 24, Demetrious Johnson will next be fighting in the ONE circle on May 5. It will be a monumental event as it will be ONE's first show hosted in the United States.
ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video will make history at the 1st Bank Arena in Colorado. The headlining fight will be a trilogy with a world championship on the line as Johnson looks to defend his throne against his rival Adriano Moraes.
On the trilogy against Moraes, 'Mighty Mouse' explained his point of view in an interview with SCMP MMA:
"It’s all respect. Adriano is a great athlete, one of the longest reigning champions in the flyweight division in ONE Championship."
While 'Mighty Mouse' is not used to trilogy matches, 'Mikinho' certianly is. Johnson continued:
"He’s gone back and forth, done trilogy fights with Kairat Akhmetov. I know he had a trilogy with Geje Eustaquio. Now he’s going to have a trilogy with me, so he’s kind of been in this territory before. I have as well, but typically I just go 2-0 against my opponents. "
