Danny Simpson dating history: Relationship, children, assault charges, and more
Danny Simpson has two children, a daughter named Skye with former partner Stephanie Ward and a daughter named Vienna with former partner Melissa Reeves. Skye was born in 2011, whereas Vienna in 2020.
While Ward is known for being a lawyer, Reeves is a reality TV star. Apart from Ward and Reeves, Simpson dated Tulisa Contostavlos, a singer and former X Factor judge. He is believed to have been in a few other relationships as well.
Simpson was involved in an alleged physical altercation with former partner Stephanie Ward at her home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, on Dec. 28, 2014, three days after they celebrated Christmas together with their daughter Skye. He'd been in an on-and-off relationship with Ward from 2007 to 2014.
As reported by The Sun, Ward had called 999. Police Constable Gareth Hughes claimed to have discovered Danny Simpson straddling Ward with his hands placed around her neck. The following month, Ward stated to the police that Simpson hadn't assaulted her. Simpson maintained his innocence and accused PC Hughes of lying.
District Judge Alexandra Simmonds found Simpson guilty of assault, passing the verdict on May 20, 2015. She deemed Simpson's account "unworthy of belief" and sentenced him to 300 hours of community service. In May 2016, Simpson's punishment was reviewed and changed to a 21-day curfew (applicable between 10 pm to 6 am) because of the media supposedly disrupting his community service.
Per ESPN, an order from the Manchester Crown Court helped Simpson circumvent the curfew. In 2017, Ward alleged that Simpson didn't want to see their daughter, while he claimed that the mother had been demanding exorbitant child support.
As per the Chronicle Live in 2013, Simpson's father, Peter Samms, was accused of assaulting and threatening Stephanie and her mother Gillian Ward. The incident took place in 2012 when he went to the Wards' Greater Manchester house to confront her about speaking to a British media outlet on her and Tulisa Contostavlos' respective relationships with Simpson.
Samms was found guilty of assault and handed a fine of 375 pounds, 400 pounds in cost, and 100 pounds to be paid to Gillian, after being absolved of the charges of using threatening language and behavior in a public place.
Furthermore, reality TV star Melissa Reeves gave birth to Simpson's second child in 2020, after a brief relationship. The Sun reported Simpson hadn't publicly acknowledged Reeves' announcement about their child. Regardless, their friends told the UK-based media outlet that the ex-partners were cordial and that Simpson was incredibly supportive of Reeves.
Simpson's relationship with Contostavlos started in late 2012 and ended tumultuously in 2013. Per The Metro, Contostavlos labeled Simpson an "a**hole" and "shallow." She alleged he was obsessed with her, adding that their relationship ended over an argument about a pair of shoes.
