Darren Till makes big announcement after Tommy Fury withdraws from their fight: "Now I’m the A side and I call the shots"
Darren Till shared his thoughts on Tommy Fury pulling out of their highly anticipated boxing match scheduled for Jan. 18 in Manchester. Till remains on the card and is actively seeking a new opponent.
During their press conference last month, John Fury threw water at the former UFC title challenger, sparking absolute chaos. Prior to that, 'The Gorilla' had threatened that if he started losing the boxing match, he might throw a head kick at Fury, breaking the rules and possibly using other MMA techniques.
The 25-year-old took to Instagram to announce his withdrawal from the fight, explaining that Till’s remarks about potentially breaking the rules influenced his decision. He also mentioned being excited for the match but is now focusing on finding a new date and opponent.
Former UFC fighter expressed frustration over Tommy Fury's withdrawal and took to X to criticize him. Till accused the reality show star of not being a true fighter and clarified that his earlier comments were merely promotional tactics to sell the fight. He emphasized that he has always fought within the rules and remains committed to doing so. He stated:
“Now I’m the A-side, and I call the shots. Opponent being found as we speak. I have always abided by the rules of fighting my whole life… I was building the fight with Tommy and saying things I knew he would shit himself from because I know deep down he’s not a real fighting man, and now it’s come to fruition what I have said is true."
"He has pulled out and shown his true colors. See you all January 18th because no matter what, I’ll be there as I have always been. I always show up and always will for the fans, whether you like me or not," he added.
