Darren Till's fight against du Plessis will be the first fight in over a year for 'The Gorilla' if it does come to fruition. The Liverpudlian has earned a reputation for pulling out of fights, starting with his botched fight against Marvin Vettori in March.

Till's latest canceled fight against Jack Hermansson in July was the fourth time he has pulled out in five fights. Right from the announcement of his clash against Du Plessis, fans were worried about Till pulling out again. The 29-year-old has now heightened the concerns by posting pictures of his nasty eye injury. @RoEdwardsRPM wrote:

@The_MMA_Media Hes gonna pull out again. When does the UFC say enough and cut him? I mean this ridic at this point.

Darren Till is unlikely to get cut even if he pulls out of UFC 282

Darren Till began his UFC journey on a six-fight unbeaten streak that saw him challenge Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title at just 25-years of age. While Till came up short against 'T-Wood', the Liverpudlian hardly lost any momentum.

A relatively unknown Jorge Masvidal was essentially thrown to Till as a stepping stone in his next outing. Masvidal brutally knocked out 'The Gorilla' in front of his home crowd and the rest is history.

Meanwhile Till bounced back with a split decision win against Kelvin Gastelum but went on to drop consecutive outings against Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson. But despite the recent lull in his career graph, 'The Gorilla' continues to be a big draw.

Till has arguably become a bigger name due to his recent camaraderie with the UFC's new heel Khamzat Chimaev. The Liverpudlian also renewed his contract with the UFC earlier this year.
