"Defending belt against Umar in Vegas June/July" - Sean O'Malley goes on tweet rampage after rewatching Merab Dvalishvili loss

Sean O'Malley was unable to defend his bantamweight title for the second time when he faced Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, the promotion's first event at the Las Vegas Sphere. Despite losing the bout via unanimous decision, 'Suga' recently let off a series of tweets labeling himself as the true winner of the bout.

The No. 1-ranked bantamweight initially shared that he would be rewatching the fight before tweeting:

"Round 1. I won that round 100%!! Based on damage that’s my round."

O'Malley noted that he lost the second round, adding:

"Round 2 def lost. Took very little damage tho"

In a series of tweets, 'Suga' then claimed he was able to win a close round three, before losing the fourth and declaring himself the winner after watching the fifth and final round:

"Round 3 was closer than round 1 in my opinion. My round. Up 2-1 going into round 4. Round 4 Merabs round for sure. 2-2 going into the 5th. Round 5 I won . I am the champ. God is good. 1,3,5 round I won. Defending belt against Umar in Vegas June/July."

O'Malley then tagged both ESPN and the UFC, asking them to repost the fight:

"Plzzzz @espn @ufc repost the fight . 1,3,5"

O"Malley followed up with two tweets claiming he is still the champion and undefeated. While O'Malley had himself winning the first round, none of the three judges agreed. All three did award him the fifth round, while two also gave him the third.

Sean O'Malley retirieves belt, claims he will face Umar Nurmagomedov in third title defense

Sean O'Malley shared a video of him retiring his belt on Wednesday in which he claimed that he lost the first two rounds before winning rounds three and five. He had a change of heart on Thursday, however, as he retrieved the belt and labeled himself the winner of rounds one, three, and five.

'Suga' took to Instagram, stating:

"I'm back. Just rewatched the fight. I won round one, three and five. F**k you, Merab, you're still a b**ch. I'm the champ and still undefeated. Defending my belt in June or July against Umar Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas. I'm the champ, and still, round one, three and five. If you don't believe me, go rewatch it for yourself. I had Merab running like a b**ch in round five. I'm the champ. Rewatch the fight. Title defense number three, Umar, I'm coming for you."

It is unclear when O'Malley will return to the octagon as he has teased that he could be out until mid-2025. He will likely need at least one win to re-enter the bantamweight title picture.
