“I actually enjoyed Pierce Brosnan as a superhero” - Demetrious Johnson gushes over former Bond actor’s Black Adam work
Mixed martial arts legend Demetrious Johnson is somewhat of a superhero in his own right—accomplishing feats within the sport of MMA that only a few can parallel.
DC Films recently released yet another box office smash-hit in the form of Black Adam, starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. While 'Mighty Mouse' enjoyed the movie, it was Dr. Fate's character who he was most infatuated with.
"I just saw Black Adam and I actually enjoyed that. Like, Dr. Fate, holy shit! Like I actually enjoyed Pierce Brosnan as a superhero in that movie. I was really impressed."
Dr. Fate, played by Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, has access to numerous magical powers, making him one of Earth's most powerful magical users in the DC Universe.
Demetrious Johnson wants a Dr. Fate standalone film
The 36-year-old 'Mighty Mouse' wants to see Brosnan star in a Dr. Fate standalone film, which has yet to occur for the DC character.
“Dr. Fate was my favorite part. I would love to see him have a standalone movie. I would love to see Pierce Brosnan do his backstory of Dr. Fate, he was amazing to watch.”
If anyone can pull off a masterful performance in such a role, it's Brosnan. The Irish actor and film producer is best known for portraying secret agent James Bond in four of the Bond film series installments from 1995 to 2002.
For Demetrious Johnson, his success has seamlessly carried him from the UFC over to ONE Championship. In six appearances under the ONE banner, the American has lost just once, i.e., to Adriano Moraes. However, Johnson has since avenged that defeat to regain his flyweight world title.
Not only that, but Demetrious Johnson also managed to choke out promotional staple and flyweight Muay Thai champ Rodtang Jitmuangnon in what was the first-ever special rules superfight in ONE.
Circling back to the superhero realm, 'Mighty Mouse' spoke to Joe Rogan about his thoughts on the recently released She-Hulk series. He said:
“I actually enjoyed She-Hulk, didn’t really care about the finale. I hope to see it on the big screen. I love her powers, I love the whole thing, and I love the actor Tatiana [Maslany]. She’s an amazing actor and I love the story of She-Hulk. I hope to see it on the big screen.”
