Demetrious Johnson lauds ONE Championship’s ability to blend different disciplines
Demetrious Johnson was pleased with the outcome of his flyweight world title showdown against Adriano Moraes in the main event of ONE Fight Night 10, and he was similarly excited by the entire stacked bill that treated the audience to some absolute firefights.
While his trilogy fight with Adriano Moraes was a huge draw for the sold-out audience in 1stBank Center and the watching world, the entire night delivered some incredible moments from bell to bell throughout the promotion’s on-ground debut in North America.
The fans were promised an experience like no other, and that’s exactly what they got on May 5. There were clashes ranging from MMA, submission grappling, and Muay Thai, featuring the best competitors from each disciplines.
Whilst Asian fans have become accustomed to this, a card blended with various martial arts was largely still something new for U.S. fans. But based on their reactions and the buzz on social media following ONE Fight Night 10, they’re ready to fill out the venue once again when the Singapore-based organization returns.
Following his main event triumph, Johnson reflected on the amazing night in an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
Demetrious Johnson particularly had high praise for ONE Championship’s capability to combine martial artists from various disciplines – as they have always done – for its special on-ground debut in North America.
The flyweight MMA king said:
“I think ONE Championship does a good job of packaging it together and giving it to the audience.”
