Demetrious Johnson ranks Jon Jones below Andrei Arlovski, Daniel Cormier as top UFC heavyweights of all-time
Jon Jones is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter in history, with the two-division champion holding a plethora of UFC records. But ahead of his heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic, Jones' ranking among all-time great heavyweights was shared by Demetrious Johnson.
Johnson himself is argued to be higher on the GOAT list than 'Bones', mainly due to his lack of failed drug tests, unlike Jones. With the New York native set to face Miocic at UFC 309 on Nov. 16, 'Mighty Mouse' shared a preview of the event where he listed some all-time heavyweight fighters.
Despite Jones' status as arguably the best fighter of all-time, his lone appearance at heavyweight has left him below names such as Andre Arlovski, and his biggest rival, Daniel Cormier.
During his preview for UFC 309, Johnson said:
"I would put Andrei Arlovski above Jon Jones because he had way more fights at heavyweight, right? I think he has more title defenses at heavyweight... Even Daniel Cormier, Stipe.."
He continued:
"Look at this concept right here, Jones is the greatest light heavyweight we've ever seen... It's not a disrespect to Jones, it's almost crediting the work that Stipe, that Daniel Cormier, that all the other heavyweights, Frank Mir, Brock Lesnar, the list just goes on.

Jon Jones willing to vacate heavyweight title next in pursuit of fighting Alex Pereira
Jon Jones has been accused of avoiding a heavyweight title unification bout with interim champion Tom Aspinall.
With 'Bones' defending his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, the New York native has stated that should he defeat Miocic, a clash with light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira would interest him greatly.
So much so that he would be willing to vacate the heavyweight title in order to make it happen. During a recent interview with Aaron Bronsteter, Jones said:
"Well, the interim championship shouldn't have been there in the first place. The only reason why there was an interim championship fight was because I got hurt, and they needed to keep the importance of that Madison Square Garden event... Making it an interim fight was premature, and now you have a bunch of confused people."
He continued:
"It'd be cool to fight [Pereira] over the heavyweight championship, but I would also willingly give up the heavyweight championship... Fighting Pereira for the BMF belt, that'd be cool."
