Demetrious Johnson raves about his children's jiu-jitsu journeys: "My oldest loves to compete"
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a family affair in Demetrious Johnson's household.
The reigning ONE flyweight MMA world champion has always been passionate about 'The Gentle Art'. So much so, that the 37-year-old MMA legend tore through the IBJJF Gi scene in recent months.
Johnson passed his love for BJJ to his three children, Tyron, Maverick, and Tanyth, who have all embarked on their own grappling journeys.
Demetrious Johnson was certainly one proud dad when he talked about his kids' love for the sport in a recent episode of his MightyCast podcast.
'Mighty Mouse' shared with fellow ONE Championship royalty Angela Lee:
"When you grapple my kids, all three of them do jiu-jitsu. My oldest loves to compete in jiu-jitsu. My middle [one], he doesn't like to deal with the pressure. He doesn't like dealing with losing. "
'DJ' continued:
"When they were kids, they were like, 'Oh man, I just lost' and then they cried. But now he's trying to get to a point where he sees his friends compete. And when his friends don't compete and they don't get a medal, he goes 'Yeah, it's OK right?'"

Demetrious Johnson gives his best parenting tip
While Demetrious Johnson may very well go down as the best to ever do it in MMA, he'll always consider himself a loving husband and father first and foremost.
The 37-year-old legend always has his family's best interest as his main priority.
For Johnson, building a healthy family relationship starts with establishing a safe space for them at home. He narrated on the podcast:
"We try to be the best version we would want to have as parents when we were kids, right? I think having an open discussion, having a safe space for our children, our loved ones, is a good thing."
