Demetrious Johnson says Elden Ring is a better game than God of War

When ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson isn’t getting work done on the mats, you can often find him sitting with a controller.

Through his YouTube channel and Twitch streams, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has been able to turn his other big passion in life into a career of its own, playing video games as entertainment. These platforms have allowed fans to interact with one of the greatest of all time and see him in his natural habitat before watching him compete under the biggest and brightest lights.

One of the main features of Johnson’s channel over the last year has been his playthrough of the FromSoftware game Elden Ring, which he at first wasn't interested in. Released in February 2022, the action role-playing game recently won the game of the year at The Game Awards, beating out God of War: Ragnarok, another deserving contender.

In an interview with SCMP MMA, Demetrious Johnson spoke about his love for the game and its well-deserved award win:

"One thousand percent. I love God of War. I love Kratos and the whole storyline. It’s a great game. But if you have the open-world concept with Elden Ring and you can choose whatever you want in an online PVP. There’s just way more things that are better for Elden Ring than God of War. It’s basically, here’s the story, here’s the moveset, you can get this and that’s it. It’s like Devil May Cry, but set in the mythology days. I absolutely agree."

“Super excited about that” - Demetrious Johnson excited to step in the circle with Adriano Moraes for third time

Despite having to stand across the circle from Adriano Moraes for a third time, Demetrious Johnson is chomping at the bit for their trilogy matchup.

In their first fight, Johnson was finished for the first time in his professional career. In their rematch, ‘Mighty Mouse’ got his sweet revenge in indelible fashion by knocking out Moraes with a perfectly timed flying knee.

Given that he became the flyweight world champion in their last fight, it would be understandable if Johnson wanted to face someone fresh before returning to the Moraes rivalry. Instead, DJ can’t wait to close out their iconic trilogy.

In the same interview with SCMP MMA, Demetrious Johnson spoke about his mindset going into his title defense against the former champion:

"Super excited about that. May 5th, Colorado, Broomfield. Looking forward to my trilogy with Adriano Moraes for the flyweight belt. I’m just gonna go out there and do my thing."

The occasion itself is worthy enough to host such a prestigious trilogy matchup. ONE Fight Night 10, headlined by Johnson vs Moraes 3, will be ONE’s debut in the US.
