Demetrious Johnson tells UFC legend 'Rampage' Jackson what he has "always" done in his training camps: "A brain switch that happens"

Demetrious Johnson recently disclosed to UFC legend Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson what he has done in his training camp and the hilarious misconception it led to. He noted that he has trained in different countries, which has made him accustomed to communicating the way he does in training.

'Mighty Mouse' is regarded by many as being the greatest flyweight of all time as well as in strong consideration for MMA GOAT for his incredible UFC flyweight title reign. He joined ONE FC via trade involving Ben Askren, where he has continued to add to his already spectacular resume in the sport.

During his recent appearance on the UFC legend's JAXXON PODCAST, 'Mighty Mouse' brought up that he enjoys swimming alone and bowing when he finishes. Johnson mentioned that it has been something that he continues to do in his training camps. Jackson noted that he had characteristics of a Japanese fighter and the former UFC star admitted that coaches even ask him if he is. He said:

"One thing I've always done in my training camp is I always swim by myself on Wednesdays. And after spending time with the natural elements of water, I always get up and I'll bow and say, 'thank you for providing me the element to be able to swim in the water'...There's a brain switch that happens when I start training."

Demetrious Johnson says he never felt consumed by MMA

Demetrious Johnson also brought up that he never felt consumed by MMA in comparison to other fighters like Tony Ferguson.

During the aforementioned appearance, Johnson mentioned that he was able to separate his personal life from fighting, which allowed him to devote his time to his family rather than being obsessed with the result of a fight. He said:

"Ever since I fought in mixed martial arts, I win my fight, I would go home and leave that life behind. And so when I've been removed from it for a year-and-a-half, it's almost like I'm not missing anything...Matt Brown said something about it's hard for Tony Ferguson to leave the sport. He was like, 'it's a drug'. I never fell in love with that drug." [28:13 - 28:39]
