Demetrious Johnson wanted to exchange with Rodtang after getting punched in the face by Thai phenom
Demetrious Johnson has admitted to fighting recklessly after getting hit by Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Johnson’s mixed-rules bout against Rodtang displayed the positive effects of ONE Championship's open-mindedness and the diversity of talent on their roster. Bringing together two powerhouses from different martial arts backgrounds provided a must-see, action-packed fight.
‘Mighty Mouse’ recently joined Joe Rogan on The Joe Rogan Experience and had this to say about the unforgettable matchup:
“When he hit me in the first round, I was like, ‘F*** this, we’re going’ I was gonna fight. If I’m getting knocked out, I get knocked out. If I don’t, then ‘Hey, we got the second round.’”
‘Mighty Mouse’ avoided the first-round knockout under Muay Thai rules and choked Rodtang unconscious in the second round with MMA rules. Despite the loss, the Thai phenom has shown interest in transitioning to MMA. The question is, can he improve his grappling enough to keep the fight standing?
