Denice Zamboanga details how her two-year stint at Fairtex Training Center unfolded: “It was all good”
Denice Zamboanga spent two years training alongside Stamp Fairtex at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand, which she said help her enhance her skills as a fighter.
'The Menace' used the her time at the noted gym to establish a steady career in MMA under ONE Championship, which has brought her to a world title shot against none other than atomweight queen Stamp next month.
Zamboanga will challenge the Thai superstar for the atomweight MMA gold at ONE 167 on June 7 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It will serve as the headlining contest of the event, which will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
In an interview with Calf Kick Sports in line with her upcoming title fight, the 27-year-old T-Rex Martial Arts Training Center standout talked about how her Fairtex stint came about and what the experience was like, saying:
"I had a job here in the Philippines, but then I got an email from Fairtex to train there and train with Stamp to become one of her training partners. So I just went to Thailand. I think it was two years of me training there and it was all good."

The title shot at ONE 167 is a realization of a long-sought goal of Denice Zamboanga since she came on board ONE in 2019. She has seen her share of ups-and-downs but is thankful for the oppotunity that has been presented to her.
Denice Zamboanga does not see friendship with Stamp getting in the way of their title clash
Filipino atomweight fighter Denice Zamboanga has maintained a good friendship with Stamp Fairtex from their days training together at Fairtex Training Center in Thailand. She, however, does not see it getting in the way of her goal of becoming the new ONE atomweight MMA world champion.
The No. 2 contender in the division will try to seize the atomweight belt from Stamp at ONE 167 on June 7. It is the main bout of the event, which marks the return of ONE to Impact Arena in Bangkok since January last year.
Speaking on The Sheehan Show vis Sherdog, 'The Menace' shared her mindset in going up against her pal Stamp, saying:
"Yeah, of course. After all, this is my first time fighting with my fiend, a close friend. And I just don't think that I'm fighting with my friend when we're inside the cage. That's how it is."
At ONE 167, Denice Zamboanga is looking to build on her back-to-back victories heading into the contest.
For her part, Stamp will be defending for the first time the vacant world title she claimed in September last year with a third-round TKO of veteran South Korean fighter Ham Seo Hee.
