Denis Puric lists Rodtang, Superbon, and ‘one of the best’ Petchtanong as his favorite Muay Thai fighters
Veteran fighter Denis Puric is thrilled to see Muay Thai brimming with world-class athletes, some of whom he has taken as among his favorites in combat sports.
He, in particular, cited Thai superstars Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Superbon and Petchtanong Petchfergus as fighters he is greatly impressed with for the varying and exciting ways they have elevated Muay Thai.
'The Bosnian Menace' shared his thoughts on said fighters in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, saying:
"Who's my favorite to watch right now? Rodtang. He comes in, brings the heat, it's always exciting. I've always liked to watch Superbon, too. He's very technical. Another guy, a super great fighter, that people forget is Petchtanong. That guy is super fun to watch when he's in his element, when he finds his rhythm. Man, that guy is one of the best for sure."
Watch the interview below:
Superbon is currently the interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion. Petchtanong, for his part, is the former bantamweight kickboxing world champion.
Rodtang, meanwhile, is the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, who Denis Puric will be battling in a kickboxing showdown at ONE 167: Stamp vs Zamboanga on June 7.
The 39-year-old Bosnian-Canadian fighter is looking to notch a victory over Rodtang in fortifying his bid for a world title shot.
ONE 167 will emanate from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Denis Puric not scared of Rodtang's forward pressure
While he is impressed with how Rodtang Jitmuangnon brings the heat in each of his fights, Denis Puric is least scared of it and believes he has what it takes to take it head-on.
'The Bosnian Menace' will battle 'The Iron Man' in a featured flyweight kickboxing showdown at ONE 167: Stamp vs Zamboanga on June 7 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Denis Puric knows that he is up against a tough challenge in the reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion but is confident of his ability to put up a needed the foil, especially since the match will be played in his traditional lane of kickboxing.
The Team CSK affiliate said:
"Honestly, I feel that I have more tools than him, especially in kickboxing. His thing is just pressure. He comes forward. He drains guys. He pressures, and guys get scared, but you've seen me. I'm not that guy who just sits there and is just scared. I don't get scared."
ONE 167 will be the first time that Denis Puric will be competing in kickboxing in ONE Championship. All of his five fights to date were played under Muay Thai rules.
