Denis Puric stacks praise on Jonathan Haggerty's two-sport takeover in ONE Championship
Jonathan Haggerty's impressive haul on the global stage of ONE Championship has impressed everyone, including Bosnian-Canadian hard hitter Denis Puric.
The British striker went from top-ranked contender to two-sport world champion in a glorious 2023 campaign, achieving that feat with impressive back-to-back finishes over Nong-O Hama and Fabricio Andrade.
Haggerty has carried on that impressive streak into the new year – successfully defending his Muay Thai throne against Felipe Lobo at ONE Fight Night 19 this past February.
And with another massive clash in the offing, as he puts his bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the line against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver on September 6, Denis Puric can't help but sing praise for the Londoner's impeccable run over the past couple of years.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA discussing his fight against Rodtang at ONE 167, the 39-year-old veteran strayed away from the main topic on the table, highlighting how good 'The General' has looked since deciding to ply his trade in the bantamweight division.
'The Bosnian Menace' shared:
"Haggerty is another guy you can't take anything away from because he's obviously proved himself to be one of the greatest right?
"And maybe the weight class was a little bit, you know, too much for him, and maybe that's why he wasn't performing as he is in his last fights there."
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver, where Haggerty runs it back with Superlek, can be purchased here. The stacked September 6 showcase goes down live in U.S. primetime from the Ball Arena.

Denis Puric feels he's not getting enough recognition after Rodtang slugfest
Meanwhile, Denis Puric is carrying a bit of resentment for the lack of appreciation towards him. The Bosnian-Canadian went to the limit with 'The Iron Man' inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Despite coming out short, he believes that he deserves more credit for accepting the fight at catchweight and putting on a show with him being 13 years Rodtang's senior.
In the same interview, Denis Puric went on to add:
"I watched the post-fight press conference, and we obviously put on the fight of the night, right? Nobody said, 'Hey, Denis came in and threw at 39 years old.' Look, I've never missed weight in my life, okay? Never in my career.
"So, at least, I'd have appreciated it if they acknowledged me. Hey, if you're going to talk about Rodtang and say if you want to be the best, how about looking at Denis? He's 39, still making weight, you know? I got 13 years on Rodtang."
