Despite missing out on $2.86 million, Conor McGregor earned $1.08 million from his bet on Spain beating England in Euro '24

Since inking a deal with Duelbits in 2024, Conor McGregor has become an active sports bettor and often shares his wagers on social media. McGregor has not limited his betting to combat sports, sharing a €100,000 bet on Spain to win with the exact score of 3-1 in the Euro 2024 finals.

McGregor shared in his tweet that the odds he got on Duelbits for the exact score were priced at 25-1, giving him a potential payout of $2.86 million. 'The Notorious' placed the bet on July 13 with the game set to play out the following day on his 36th birthday.

The game concluded with Spain winning but only topping England 2-1, thus leaving McGregor with a losing slip. However, as the former UFC champion shared just hours after the match ended, he also placed a straight bet on Spain to win to cash out with a $1.08 million profit.

The second wager was also placed with Duelbits.

Even with his big payout from the Euro 2024 final, McGregor has more money on the line to potentially win on his birthday. The Irishman shared earlier in the month that he also placed a sizeable wager on Argentina to win the Copa America 2024 final for another potential $1 million.

Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, will face Colombia in the Copa America final on July 14 at 8 p.m. ET/midnight GMT.

Is Conor McGregor fighting again in the UFC?

After three years on the mend, Conor McGregor was expected to return to the UFC on June 29 to headline International Fight Week against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. Instead, a broken toe further pushed back his long-awaited return and put his fighting future back into uncertainty.

After the news of his removal from the event was official, McGregor tweeted his thoughts, insisting to fans that he would be "back" despite general doubts.

Dana White has not given any updates on the company's plan for Conor McGregor, telling reporters that he will only speak on the subject once he hears the fighter is cleared to compete again.
