Diego Lopes scoffs as Movsar Evloev tries to rematch him on short-notice again with blunt statement: "Since our fight, I have 5 victories"

Diego Lopes has hit out against Movsar Evloev on X/Twitter. The unbeaten Russian made what appears to be a futile attempt to rematch the streaking Brazilian at UFC 307, after Aljamain Sterling withdrew from their anticipated matchup. Lopes, however, was having none of it.

Taking to his account, Lopes scoffed at the notion of another short-notice rematch against Evloev, especially one which would be a quick turnaround as he just went three rounds with Brian Ortega at UFC 303. He took aim at the Russian's predicament, including the latter's inactivity.

"Brother, since my first victory in the UFC, I called you to fight. You could make excuses, that you were above me in the rankings. Since our fight, I have 5 victories. While you have only fought once. You were lower in the rankings. Not to mention that you have not finished anyone."

Lopes is currently doing a victory lap after his triumphant efforts at Noche UFC 306, which saw him defeat two-time featherweight title challenger Brian Ortega in dominant fashion. He battered, dropped, and outgrappled 'T-City' in a three-round thriller. Meanwhile, Evloev has struggled to excite the MMA world.

The Russian is undefeated, but has failed to finish anyone, as Lopes correctly pointed out. Evloev was actually a prolific finisher prior to his UFC career, but the moment he signed with the promotion, his finishing ways have come to an end, despite an eight-fight win streak.

For now, Evloev, who has expressed a desire to stay on the UFC 307 card, will await an opponent from the UFC. But the worst case scenario will lead to his removal.

Diego Lopes has already fought Movsar Evloev on short-notice

Despite the daunting task of taking on an undefeated Russian wrestler, Diego Lopes was unfazed, accepting the bout on five days' notice. Moreover, he did so on his UFC debut, putting on an exciting fight and coming the closest to beating Evloev out of anyone else.
