Dillon Danis accuses Gordon Ryan of PED usage; talks about a potential fight against the BJJ superstar
Dillon Danis was recently called out by his former grappling opponent, Gordon Ryan. The Bellator welterweight, who has not competed in combat sports in over three and a half years, responded by accusing the five-time ADCC World Champion of using performance enhancing drugs.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Danis stated:
"He just talks s**t. First off, anything that Gordon has done in his career doesn't mean anything?... Dude, he is f**king juiced to the gills. It doesn't matter, nothing he does - imagine an NBA player that got busted for steroids and he was doing it all season, no one would even care. He is just a juice head. He's not that good."
Danis blamed the judges for his grappling loss to Ryan, claiming that everyone in the arena felt he won, however, his opponent's dad was sitting with the judges. When asked about a potential rematch, he stated:
"I would, but he has to pass a drug test. That's why he's not doing MMA. Why do you think he's not doing MMA? He can't pass a drug test. Nothing he's done in his career - it doesn't mean anything. I can test USADA tomorrow or today, let's see if he can."
While it is unclear if Ryan is indeed using steroids, this isn't the first time that he has been accused of doing so, as Brazilian jiu jitsu does not have the same strict testing policies as mixed martial arts.

Gordon Ryan blames Conor McGregor for Dillon Danis' career falling apart
Dillon Danis has not competed in combat sports in three and a half years. Former grappling opponent Gordon Ryan recently shared that he believes Danis' career has fallen apart, blaming Conor McGregor.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Ryan stated:
"Once he kind of got in with McGregor, that's when he started to fall apart. His popularity skyrocketed, but his career kind of fell apart from there... Everyone thinks that he's this bada**... Dillon Danis has a record in jiu-jitsu since [getting] black belt of 18 wins and 16 losses. He's not nearly as good at jiu-jitsu as people think he is."
While Danis has not competed in several years, he is set to make his professional boxing debut against YouTuber KSI in January 2023. It is unclear if Danis has plans to compete in mixed martial arts going forward.
