Dillon Danis and Ariel Helwani hilariously argue about their friendship

Dillon Danis and Ariel Helwani have been jibing at one another throughout 2022, continuing their feud that originated in 2021.

Back in January 2022, Danis notably lambasted Helwani for supporting his rival, YouTuber/boxer Jake Paul. Helwani has been incredibly critical of Danis' inactivity in BJJ and MMA over the past few years.

In the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Dillon Danis partook in an in-studio interview with host Ariel Helwani. 'El Jefe' suggested that he used to consider Helwani a friend, adding that the MMA journalist responded with extreme hostility to even the smallest of jokes. Helwani fired back by asserting that Danis called him "a b*tch."

Danis noted that he'd posted a meme/comment portraying Helwani as the type of person who hangs out with his wife's boyfriend and that the meme offended him. Helwani replied by highlighting that Danis' comment was indeed offensive towards him and his wife and wasn't something a friend would post. However, Helwani emphasized that he doesn't care about what the BJJ savant says.

Additionally, Helwani alleged that Danis spoiled his (Helwani's) professional relationship with the latter's coach, SBG Ireland's John Kavanagh. Danis refuted the allegation and joked about Helwani's physical features, referring to the journalist as "di*k nose."

Helwani hit back by opining that Danis is taking more jibes at him. Danis insinuated that he has voice recordings of Helwani to back up his claims and even jestingly agreed to take a lie detector test with him. The MMA journalist responded by stating:

"For what? That I called you crying? Are you shi**ing me? Don't be a f*cking b*tch." Meanwhile, Danis warned, "I have the voice [recordings]. Be careful with the words."

When asked to present the recordings, Dillon Danis alluded to himself and Helwani having new phones that don't have the recordings. The duo even argued about Darren Till doing way worse to Helwani by leaking his phone number. Further aiming at Danis' phone recording claims, Helwani said:

"Oh, f**k off. I see another lie. Lie number one, check. What are you, you don't put things in the cloud? Okay, yeah, sure, you don't."

Dillon Danis eyes a triumphant return to combat sports after multi-year hiatus

Once a highly-touted BJJ prospect, Dillon Danis shifted his focus to the sport of MMA and amassed a 2-0 pro record fighting for Bellator MMA. 'El Jefe' last competed in MMA in June 2019. He subsequently dealt with severe knee injury issues and hasn't participated in any professional combat sports contests ever since.
