Dillon Danis brings up CTE as he reacts to Nate Diaz instructing Kron Gracie at UFC 310

Nate Diaz's stint as a cornerman at UFC 310 proved to be disastrous. He was part of the coaching team enlisted by Kron Gracie to help him against Bryce Mitchell. Unfortunately, his cornering was of no value, with a recent clip of him shouting instructions drawing the attention of none other than Dillon Danis.

ESPN MMA took to Instagram to share a clip of Diaz doing his best to coach Gracie through tough positions. The fight, though, was a tremendous failure for the entire camp, with Gracie getting knocked out cold by Mitchell in the early seconds of round three.

"Starting setting up the triangle! Open guard! Triangle!"

Gracie's efforts were widely criticized, as has become the case with his career. While his strategy was to drag the fight to the mat, where his Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizardry would serve him best, he lacked the tactics to do so without putting himself in a poor position.

So with no strong takedowns to end up on top, he resorted to pulling guard, which eventually led to his loss, as Mitchell slammed him and elbowed him. Diaz's corner advice was also criticized, with Danis, a high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu grappler himself, saying the following in an Instagram comment:

With the amount of damage Diaz has sustained throughout his career, many have speculated that he has shown signs of CTE, which he has rubbished on numerous occasions. Regardless, he and Gracie will have to go back to the drawing board, as the latter is now 5-3 in the UFC, and on a three-fight losing streak.

Nate Diaz also made his presence known during UFC 310 fight week

During the UFC 310 fight week, the promotion opted to hold a press conference for UFC 311 as well, generating hype for the event. When fighters from the UFC's Dagestani elite were backstage, including reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, Nate Diaz saw fit to start a melee.

As he often does, Diaz threw water bottles at the entourage, reigniting a feud that dates back to his issues with the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov. Fortunately, security was quick to intervene, preventing the situation from escalating any further.
