Dillon Danis brutally mocked by fans for allegedly feigning Conor McGregor's accent
Dillon Danis has found himself on the receiving end of jokes and mockery again after the 29-year-old pretended to speak in Conor McGregor's Irish accent during a recent interview.
Dillon Danis is all set to face UK-based YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in the boxing ring. After months of taking potshots at each other both online and offline, the pair will fight on January 14.
It appears that Danis tried putting on an Irish accent during one of his interviews. In a video posted on Twitter, 'El Jefe' can be seen talking to a reporter, and the caption reads:
"Why the fu*k is he feigning Conor's [McGregor] accent?"
The video stirred up quite a few reactions from users who posted their own funny and parodical replies. One such user replied:
"Dillon the type of guy to shoot for a takedown during this boxing match"
Some users posted their thoughts about Danis, regarding his fighting career. A common theme among the replies was the references to his antics outside the cage:
"Dude I really feel bad for him. Hasn’t fought professionally in 3 years, he constantly gets trashed online for antics only he finds funny. Almost got knocked out for it the other day. It’s actually getting sad"
"He’s right about not being Anderson or Woodley. They are actually accomplished and respected by their peers."
One user had to ask who Dillon Danis was and even got the answer:
"Can someone explain to me who @dillondanis is? Why is he semi-famous?"
"He is/used to be a training partner of Conor McGregor, he’s lived off that “friendship” forever but Conor has recently made it clear they’re not even boys like that"
"Being drunk isn't an Irish accent, though I get the confusion"
Conor McGregor praises Nate Diaz for slapping Dillon Danis' teammate
It seems as though all is not well between the two training partners, Conor McGregor and Dillon Danis, as the UFC megastar praised his old rival Nate Diaz for slapping one of Danis' teammates in a now-deleted tweet.
Both Diaz and Danis attended the UFC 281 event at Madison Square Garden. Their entourages crossed paths outside the venue, and a verbal back-and-forth ensued, with members from both sides trash-talking the other.
The younger Diaz sibling then proceeded to slap one of Dillon Danis' teammates as security from both sides quickly broke the fight up, and the fighters went their separate ways.
Conor McGregor then posted a tweet, which has since been deleted, reacting to the incident:
"Haha nice shot"
Conor Mcgregor and Dillon Danis used to be training partners, with Danis seemingly being one of McGregor's grappling coaches and sparring partners. However, it seems as if the old friends have had a falling out lately.
