Dillon Danis calls Islam Makhachev's actions "haram," Muhammad Mokaev comes to defend
Dillon Danis is no stranger to confrontations, particularly when it comes to taking shots at various members of the MMA community on Twitter. The Bellator fighter has a history with the Dagestani crew as well. He infamously clashed with Khabib Nurmagomedov after 'The Eagle' submitted Danis' teammate Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
Recently, Danis took the opportunity to take shots at Nurmagomedov's teammate and current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in a Twitter post. The post features a picture of Islam Makhachev posing with ONE Championship athlete Danielle Kelly, with the title "Haram."

The word 'haram' means 'forbidden' or 'prohibited' in the Arabic language and has significance in the doctrine of Islam. The word alludes to any behavior, lifestyle or action that is deemed prohibited within the Islamic faith. Dillon Danis' use of the word is in reference to Islam Makhachev associating himself with unrelated women, something that is deemed 'haram' in Islam.
The post drew the attention of Muhammad Mokaev, a Russian-born English fighter who competes in the UFC's flyweight division. Mokaev slammed Danis by replying to his post with the following:
"Shut your mouth, Twitter fighter!"

Despite calling out a whole host of fighters, Danis has fought only twice in mixed martial arts. He has two winning bouts in Bellator in 2018 and 2019 and hasn't competed in over three years.

The time Dillon Danis got punched clean in the face
Dillon Danis is no stranger to physical altercations, besides his Twitter battles. The most infamous of these was when he ticked off a riled-up Khabib Nurmagomedov post the UFC 229 mega event, where 'The Eagle' jumped out of the octagon and performed a flying kick on Danis.
Most recently, Danis showed up to a press conference for the Misfits Boxing promotion owned by KSI, where he had an altercation with the YouTuber turned boxing star. As they faced off, Danis pushed KSI before throwing coffee at him. What ensued was a minor scuffle where both of them were separated.

The melee continued outside the venue in the parking lot between Danis' crew and that of boxer Anthony Taylor. A member of Dillon Danis' crew threw the first punch at Taylor, which missed. In the exchange, Taylor threw a punch that caught Danis, which sent the MMA fighter stumbling back.

The incident left Dillon Danis with a bruise on his face.
Danis will face KSI in a light heavyweight boxing bout in the main event of MF & DAZN: X Series 004 at the Wembley Arena in London on January 14, 2023.
