Dillon Danis drops multiple comments reacting to Islam Makhachev calling for team street fight with Conor McGregor: "I already whooped Khabob"
In light of Islam Makhachev calling out Conor McGregor for a street fight, Dillon Danis has accepted the challenge on behalf of his former training partner. As a former cornerman of McGregor, Danis is infamous in the MMA community for his inclusion in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
Makhachev, who was the subject of a social media onslaught from McGregor during the UFC 302 fight week, gave his thoughts on 'The Notorious,' saying he would rather do a "team vs. team" street fight with the former two-division champion than meet him in the Octagon.
The former Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor was not directly mentioned by the Dagestani but included himself as a self-declared member of McGregor's team and reacted on Instagram.
Within an hour of Makhachev's comment being posted, Danis eagerly welcomed the challenge, noting that he was in New Jersey and "already whooped" the champion's former teammate, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Though Danis is no longer a consistent member of McGregor's corner, he remains in contact with the 35-year-old as the two appear to still be on good terms.
The former Bellator fighter followed up his two comments by noting that he was also in the area of the supposed fighter hotel.
In his mention of being in New Jersey at the time of UFC 302, Danis did not note if he would be in Prudential Center for the event.
Will Conor McGregor be present for UFC 302?
Though Conor McGregor has inserted himself into discussions during UFC 302 fight week, 'The Notorious' will not be in Newark for the pay-per-view event as he prepares for his own headlining fight later in June.
While McGregor will not be in New Jersey for UFC 302, his bitter rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, will be. In his return to a live UFC event, 'The Eagle' will come out of coaching retirement and resume his presence as the chief corner of Islam Makhachev for his title defense against Dustin Poirier.
As Dana White announced on social media, the promotion will lean heavily into McGregor's return to action from a near three-year layoff with an international press conference tour beginning the week after UFC 302.
