Danis and Helwani have had a strained relationship. At the start of the year, 'El Jefe' criticized Helwani for backing Jake Paul in his dispute with Dana White. In response, the MMA Hour host launched into a tirade to mock the Bellator fighter.

Helwani wrote on Twitter:

"Guys if you think life sucks right now just think you could have begged for 3 years to fight an 0-0 YouTuber and 3 years later still not be popular enough or good enough to even be considered a worthy opponent for him. Imagine that. In other words, you could be @dillondanis"

Hey guys follow me real quick and I’ll follow you back and pay you 1k. Ffs. Get a grip Dillon. Who acts like this?
3…2…1 before ol DD texts me hey bro why don’t you like me? Like, I thought we were cool bro

Can’t wait for the witty tweet reply, too.

And then he’ll call for a truce and then ask me to RT his tweets every two seconds. What a pleasure.

Danis was quick to respond to Helwani on his official Twitter handle, writing:

"Ariel It's bad enough you've been fired by every media outlet Don't beg for crumbs from joke paul by attacking me Just fade into oblivion."

Ariel
It's bad enough you've been fired by every media outlet
Don't beg for crumbs from joke paul by attacking me
Just fade into oblivion.
Took me awhile to read your insipid, bland, lifeless, Junior High "Journalism". You're a terrible writer
What did you do w/the $ your Mommy gave you for writing lessons?

God knows you didn't buy a gym membership with it
Your arms look like car antennas
You're a guy with
ONE
Shirt
and
ZERO
Original Ideas

If you couldn't beg fighters into giving you material you'd be making money being a fluffier for your wife’s boyfriend.

BBJ star Gordon Ryan takes jibe at DIllon Danis; claims the Bellator fighter manages to get by due to family inheritance

On a past episode of The MMA Hour, Gordon Ryan expressed his disapproval of Dillion Danis, calling him a "clown" and asserting that the only way he remains in the public eye is by being provocative and not through any accomplishments in combat sports.

The 4-time Grappling World Champion has been absent from MMA since his last bout in 2019. He has only fought twice in Bellator. Due to a knee injury, the 29-year-old has not been able to compete in the cage for almost three years now, but has still managed to stay in the public eye through his activities outside of the sport.

Taking note of that, Gordon Ryan said:

"Yeah, so the thing about Dillon is -- First of all, Dillon is a master. Dillon is an absolute master at managing to stay relevant without actually doing anything combat-related. I don't know how he does it, but he does it."

He further added, saying:

"And props to him because he doesn't -- First of all, his family must have money because he doesn't do anything to actually generate revenue. He doesn't have sponsors, if you look at his Instagram. He doesn't teach. He doesn't compete. I don't know how he's not homeless, first of all. He must have like, an inheritance or something. But he manages to stay relevant."
