Dominick Reyes' former opponent Jon Jones "concerned" about 'The Devastator's health following brutal KO loss at UFC 281

Jon Jones has expressed concern over Dominick Reyes' health after 'The Dominator's' brutal first-round KO loss against Ryan Spann at UFC 281.

Spann hurt Reyes with a big right hand hardly a minute into the fight. 'The Dominator' appeared to have recovered before getting knocked out with a jab seconds later.

Responding to a fan, Jones claimed to be worried about his former opponents' health rather than feeling bad for him. 'Bones' wrote:

"I don’t know if feel bad are the words, I would say more like concerned for his health."

Jones fought 'The Dominator' in his last octagon outing back in 2020, earning a unanimous decision victory in one of the toughest tests of his career. Reyes' defeat against Spann immediately sparked conversations about 'The Dominator' having never recovered from the Jones loss. One fan wrote on Twitter:

"It's crazy how much the @JonnyBones took Reyes confidence. 😳"

However, Jones noted that Reyes' confidence must not have taken a hit since he considered himself to have won the fight. The former UFC light-heavyweight champ wrote:

"I didn’t take his confidence, in his mind he beat me. Maybe that’s his problem."

Dominick Reyes believes things could have been different if he got the nod against Jon Jones

Dominick Reyes went toe-to-toe against Jon Jones in a fight that many believe could have gone either way. However, all three judges scored the bout in favor of the champion, who went on to vacate the belt.

'The Dominator', meanwhile, went on to suffer consecutive KO losses against Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka and now Ryan Spann. Although he doesn't like to dwell on it much, Reyes couldn't help but wonder how his career might have been had he got the nod against Jon Jones at UFC 247. Still confident of his victory, 'The Dominator' said in an appearance on The MMA Hour earlier this year:

“It could all be different. It could all be so different right now. I did win that fight with Jon, but if I did get the nod — or however you want to say it — and I’m the champ, who knows? Maybe I don’t fight Jan, maybe I fight someone else. It all could be so different."
