Donald Cerrone admits to PED usage

Donald Cerrone has been piling on a lot of muscle since his retirement from MMA after over a decade and a half inside the cage. He has admitted to taking PEDs to gain his incredible physique post-retirement.

'Cowboy' laid down his gloves in the middle of the octagon and left the sport behind earlier this year after suffering a second-round submission loss to Jim Miller at UFC 276.

Despite enduring a bad run of form inside the cage leading up to his retirement, the veteran is one of the pillars of MMA's global success.

Suspicions amongst fans began to rise when Donald Cerrone's physique recently went through some tremendous changes. The former UFC title challenger came out and admitted that he's "on the good sh**," confirming the ongoing rumors. He stated in an Instagram video:

"I was 175 pounds pretty much my entire UFC career. I'm now 220 [pounds] and I'm starting to really shred up and put on a lot of muscle mass and you can really tell. I mean, just over the last few videos, I've had people like, 'Wow, you're a lot bigger.' Well, yeah. I'm on the good sh**."

Since ending his time in the sport, Cerrone has landed a role on the big screen and is partaking in a number of projects. His most recent acting role came where he starred as the lead character, Greg Rourke, in a thriller film titled 'Project Legion'.

In 2022 alone, the martial artist landed himself five different roles in the acting world: 'The Commando', 'Terror on the Prairie', 'The Terminal List', 'El Paso 11:55', and the aforementioned 'Project Legion'.

Donald Cerrone's legacy in MMA

Donald Cerrone is beloved by most of the MMA community and will always be remembered for some memorable moments inside the octagon. Although he never managed to capture gold in the promotion, he is, without a doubt, a shoo-in for the UFC Hall of Fame.

With an incredible 38 bouts, the fan-favourite is third on the list of athletes with the most fights under the UFC banner. Alongside this substantial accomplishment, he is also tied for the second-most wins and second-most finishes in the company's history.

Holding the record for the most knockdowns in the promotion and being tied for the most post-fight bonuses alongside Charles Oliveira perfectly sums up just how great Cerrone was.
