Double champ Superlek proud to have showcased the "danger and excitement" of Muay Thai in KO of Jonathan Haggerty
Bringing Muay Thai to the masses is something that Superlek Kiatmoo9 takes a lot of pride in. There aren't many who can match up to his skill level, making him a perfect representative for the sport at the highest level.
He also tends to raise his game in the big moments and this was exactly the case in the main event of ONE 168 this past weekend.
'The Kicking Machine' was set to break new ground for his career by competing in the United States in front of a packed-out Ball Arena in Denver. What he delivered on Sept. 6, rather than a war for the ages with bantamweight champion Jonathan Haggerty, was a statement.
It only took him less than a minute to close the show in style after he landed a step-in elbow that caught the champion coming in and ended the fight in one swift blow.
During his post-fight press conference, the new two-weight and two-sport world champion spoke about what this moment in Denver meant to him:
"I'm extremely grateful for the chance that I have here. I want everybody, all over America and the world to see how incredible Muay Thai is, the danger, the excitement, everything about Muay Thai."

Superlek showed why you can't afford to look away
Several fights on this card, including the main event performance from Superlek, showed why striking sports are so exhilarating.
Though it can produce back-and-forth wars like the event opener between Johan Estupinan and Sean Climaco, it can also end in an instant like the fans saw in the final bout of the evening.
That being said, not every Muay Thai striker has the elite timing and precision of someone like the flyweight kickboxing world champion.
'The Kicking Machine' continues to take his already incredible career to new heights with each performance and ONE 168 was no different.
