"Dude said Elon is the antichrist" - MMA X slams "ungodly stupid" UFC 310 fighter for criticizing safety etiquette

One of the participants at UFC 310 has ignited a fair bit of internet discourse after uttering some controversial opinions at the pre-event media day. Bryce Mitchell is no stranger to having a conspiracy-minded approach to things as he is a well-documented flat-earther and also recently went on a volatile rant saying Elon Musk is a liar who is trying to destroy humanity.

In his latest round of head-scratching opinions, the UFC featherweight spoke at the UFC 310 media day about how people should get to choose if they wear seatbelts or not. Mitchell also went on to say that he doesn't like seatbelts and asked a rhetorical question to the on-site media members when he asked what if he needed to jump out of a car.

X user @BenTheBaneDavis posted a Verdict MMA graphic with Mitchell's media day quote on seatbelts. Several other users on the platform built up an ample thread of tweets with their takes on the 145-pound fighter's viewpoint.

@brigpicksfights said,

"He's ungodly stupid"

@Slappy_TA stated,

"This dude said Elon is the antichrist and the earth is flat. Bryce isn't just dumb, he's f***ing r****ded"

@ozzygeorge78 quipped,

"Ngl he is pretty stupid"

UFC 310 and the battle of the flat earthers

It was mentioned earlier that Mitchell believes the earth is flat, and it turns out his UFC 310 opponent holds the same belief. The idea that the planet is not a sphere was something Kron Gracie articulated in longer form during a sitdown interview with ESPN MMA that transpired five years ago.

The son of Rickson Gracie said that people are always going to say something, and while he wasn't trying to promote flat earth ideology, Kron mentioned how he does believe it. Gracie went on to say he didn't really want to discuss the topic but that ultimately no one knows the shape of our planet.

The former Rizin veteran quipped about how he expressed doubts on matters related to this subject. Gracie mentioned how he felt like there wasn't enough information for him to buy into the idea that the world is spinning. In fact, Gracie's opponent Mitchell made a playful quip at the same referenced media day about how their fight would be for the flat earth belt.
