Dustin Poirier blasts Michael Chandler for praising fellow UFC star's right hook at his cost, follows up with four-word mockery

The spat between Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler appears to be far from over. Poirier recently mocked Chandler after the 38-year-old professed praise for his teammate's performance at UFC Tampa.

Furthermore, Poirier pointed out how Chandler was struck by his right hook during their past encounter in the octagon.

For context, Chandler's teammate Michael Johnson, a UFC veteran, took on Ottman Azaitar in a lightweight bout in the prelims of UFC Tampa, which is currently taking place at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Johnson capped off an incredible performance as he secured a second-round victory via a devastating right hook that knocked out Azaitar unconscious.

Impressed by Johnson's right hook, Chandler took to X and made fun of Poirier by sharing a clip of 'The Diamond' being knocked out by Johnson in the opening round during their encounter at UFC Fight Night 94 back in 2016. That didn't sit well with the former interim lightweight champion, who responded by writing:

''Remember when I beat your a**? You are 2-4 in the ufc Muscle Milk Mike''

In another X post, Poirier shared a GIF of him dropping Chandler to the canvas during their clash at UFC 281, writing:

''Don't forget this one''

The two met inside the octagon at UFC 281 in 2022, where Poirier secured a third-round submission win against Chandler. In his most recent octagon outing at UFC 302 earlier this year, 'The Diamond' challenged Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title.

However, his hopes of becoming an undisputed champion were crushed after he was submitted in the final round.

As for Chandler, after waiting a long time to face Conor McGregor, 'Iron' eventually took on former champion Charles Oliveira in a rematch at UFC 309 last month and suffered a unanimous decision defeat.
