Dustin Poirier fires back after Michael Chandler's "rent free" tweet: "Check your record, buddy"
Dustin Poirier was able to defeat Michael Chandler via third-round submission when the two faced one another at UFC 281 back in November 2022. While he won the bout, 'The Diamond' has maintained that 'Iron' was fighting dirty, accusing him of intentionally fish-hooking his mouth and blowing bloody snot on him.
The No.4-ranked lightweight took aim at his former opponent on July 11, leading Chandler to respond:
"Dues paid but Iām living rent free š"
Poirier fired back while speaking to Jose Youngs of MMA Fighting, stating:
"Man, f**k Michael Chandler. Check your record, buddy. That last L two years ago, it's to the kid right here."

Poirier and Chandler have continued to exchange words over the past two years. While 'The Diamond' is just 1-2 since the two clashed, his losses came while fighting for the undisputed lightweight title and the symbolic 'BMF' title.
Meanwhile, 'Iron' has not entered the octagon in nearly two years. He appeared set to face Conor McGregor at UFC 303 last month. However, 'The Notorious' was forced to withdraw with a broken toe.
Dustin Poirier claims Michael Chandler is 'not one of us'
Dustin Poirier has made it clear that he is not a fan of Michael Chandler after sharing the octagon with the former three-time Bellator lightweight champion. He recently fired back at 'Iron's suggestion that he should retire, claiming the No.6-ranked lightweight just got to the UFC.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour, 'The Diamond' stated:
"I mean, come on dude, 'no thanks, retire, we good', who the f**k is we? You just got here, buddy. You're not one of us. You're not we. I've been here, you know? Come on dude, we're good? Who's we? You know, welcome to the UFC, dude. You've got one win in the UFC."
When asked if the tweet from Chandler p*ssed him off, Poirier responded:
"Yeah, bro, he's not one of us. You know, I've been cutting my teeth in the UFC since January of 2011 or 2010, you know? He just got here, who's we? He's speaking for the lightweight division? Dude, muscle milk Mike needs to chill."

Poirier and Chandler have continued to take shots at one another since clashing almost two years ago. However, the pair seem unlikely to rematch as 'The Diamond' is nearing the end of his career.
