Ebanie Bridges defends creating OnlyF*ns content: "I financially sponsor 4 other female fighters"

Australian boxer Ebanie Bridges recently addressed criticism regarding her use of the adult content platform OnlyF*ns. Bridges, who lost her IBF bantamweight title in December, utilizes OnlyF*ns to supplement her income alongside sponsorships and boxing purses.

Taking to X, Bridges defended her decision:

"People complain I do OnlyF*ns – even though so many boxers [female and male] also do OnlyF*ns, they don’t complain and discredit those boxers – just me. Sorry, I make more money on OnlyF*ns than I do putting my life on hold training and praying for a promoter to give me a fight all year."

Bridges further emphasized that OnlyF*ns allows her to financially support herself as well as other budding boxers:

“Thankfully, I have OnlyFa*s cos because if I didn’t, I’d be a broke a** b****. Boxing doesn’t pay, especially when you don’t get fights. People expect me just to twiddle my thumbs and be broke waiting on fights with no income. I financially sponsor four other female fighters; who else do that? And thank you to OnlyF*ns. I can do that and help others on their journey to chase their dreams.”

Bridges emphasized her efforts to promote herself outside of the ring, pointing to her brand collaborations and media presence. She concluded by expressing frustration over inactivity and a desire to see more fights for herself and her peers.

Ebanie Bridges frustrated by lack of fight offers from promotions

While Ebanie Bridges appears to have financial security outside the ring through modeling and endorsements, the same can't be said for her former opponent, Miyo Yoshida. Bridges recently spoke out about the concerning situation facing both fighters.

Neither Bridges nor Yoshida have secured a fight since their Dec. 2023 clash. Bridges expressed her frustration on social media, calling the current state of boxing a "sh*thouse" and questioning why it's so difficult to schedule fights for deserving contenders.

The lack of opportunity is particularly concerning for Yoshida, a single mother who relies on prizefighting as her primary source of income. Bridges highlighted the challenges faced by fighters behind the scenes, emphasizing their desire to compete and earn a living in the sport they love.
