Ebanie Bridges reacts to Conor McGregor breaking his silence following his UFC 303 fight cancellation
Ebanie Bridges wished a speedy recovery to Conor McGregor, who will no longer headline UFC 303 due to an injury that has forced him to pull out of a fight for the first time in his UFC run. He shared a statement on Instagram, which drew an outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans.
The Irishman's post featured a lengthy caption, where he detailed his reason for why he was forced to withdraw from the UFC 303 matchup with Michael Chandler. He expressed disappointment and also offered an apology to both his fans and opponent, asserting that they deserved better from him.
"Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout. I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team. My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there! Thank you for the messages of support, I am in good spirits and confident I'll be back!"
The bout cancellation was a heavy blow to MMA fans who were eager for McGregor's return, but his friends and loved ones were quick to show their support in the comment section of his post, including former IBF women's bantamweight champion, Bridges.
"Quick recovery"
While Bridges wished him a speedy recovery, and McGregor is confident that he will indeed fight again, some are skeptical about the Irishman ever setting foot inside the octagon for an MMA finale.
Conor McGregor and Ebanie Bridges have a close friendship
Conor McGregor and Ebanie Bridges have developed a close friendship over the years, with the Australian women's boxing sensation becoming an integral part of the marketing machine behind the Irishman's Forged Irish Stout. The pair have even been spotted at various events in each other's company.
Despite their business collaborations, the two have never trained together. Bridges hasn't fought since Dec. 9, 2023, when she lost her IBF women's bantamweight title to Miyo Yoshida. So until she takes on another fight, any possible training between the pair is unlikely.
