Eddie Abasolo promises to continue 'grinding' his way to a shot at ONE gold: "That's what I'm aiming for"
ONE Championship fans know that when Eddie Abasolo is listed to be in action, you can't afford to miss him.
The featherweight Muay Thai fighter may not have had the best run of results as of late, but he's always in high-action competitive fights.
His last bout against Luke Lessei in particular was an instant classic that went the way of Lessie via a split decision.
Ahead of his return at ONE 169 on Nov. 8, Abasolo spoke about his motivations and goals during a recent interview with Cageside Press. He made it clear that of course, becoming the world champion is his ultimate goal at the end of the rainbow but putting on a show is another thing that always motivates him:
"Obviously, everyone and their mamas want the title, so if that opportunity comes my way just by my grinding and like chalking them up, then I'll be ready. That's what I'm aiming for. But overall, I just want to test myself and put on monumental fights so that when my career is done, I can look back and revisit these stories."

Eddie Abasolo continues to do what he does best at ONE 169
This mindset of testing himself against the best and always bringing everything he's got is why Eddie Abasolo is such a fan favorite.
'Silky Smooth' doesn't back down, even when he finds himself coming off of consecutive defeats.
On Nov. 8 inside the Mecca of Muay Thai in Bangkok, Thailand, he faces another tough test when he welcomes Mohamed Younes Rabah to the division.
The former bantamweight is an aggressive and powerful opponent, who some competitors may have been reluctant to face.
That's never the case for Abasolo who is always willing to throw down whenever ONE Championship picks up the phone and pitch him an opponent.
