Eddie Hearn drops bombshell about wanting to run for Prime Minister of the UK: “Look at the people running this country"
Eddie Hearn shared some unexpected news during a recent interview with iFL TV: He believed he could make a good Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The boxing promoter's comments come after a snap election hosted in the UK and several incidents of knife crime that have angered the public.
The Matchroom Boxing chairman stated that he had considered running for Prime Minister years ago, but the current political dynamic in England has made him consider the idea more seriously.
During his recent interview, he said the following:
"I've felt for a long time that I would make a great Prime Minister. I'm quite deluded... One of the reasons I've been so successful and we've pushed the boundaries is because I'm deluded... I was thinking about running for MP. Especially with the state of our country at the moment."
He continued:
"I was in the car with Frank Smith and Shaun Palmer the other day and they said to me, 'I think you should run for Prime Minister.' They weren't joking... Look at the people that are running the country... When I look at Rishi Sunak, I know he's not leader of the Conservative Party and he's not Prime Minister, but how do you expect someone like that to actually deal with the problems within our country?"

Eddie Hearn predicts Israil Madrimov to ruin Turki Alalshikh's plans for Terence Crawford
Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford is set to headline an incredibly stacked boxing card on 3 Aug. in Los Angeles, California.
Crawford's 154-pound debut will be his first at super welterweight, and he will be eager to challenge Madrimov for his WBA title. Despite 'Bud' having yet to face the super welterweight champion, Turki Alalshikh has expressed his desire for Crawford to fight Canelo Alvarez next.
Alalshikh has been instrumental in organizing some of the biggest boxing fights over the last 18 months, including Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou.
But Hearn has predicted Madrimov to foil Alalshikh's plans for 'Bud', and said this during a recent interview:
"I actually sent His Excellency [Turki Alalshikh] a message yesterday and I said, 'I'm really sorry to ruin your plans for Terence Crawford.Because all people are talking about is what happens next - Canelo Alvarez... But Israil Madrimov, I think, is the toughest test so far of his [Crawford] career up at 154."
