Eddie Hearn fumes at "sickening" decision costing Dmitry Bivol title match against Artur Beterbiev: "This judge should never work in the sport again"
Bxing promoter Eddie Hearn did not seem too pleased with the outcome of the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol clash on Oct. 12. After the fight, Hearn made an appearance at the post-fight press conference where he shared his thoughts on the title fight.
The boxing promoter praised the encounter but went on to express his disagreement with the result. Hearn criticized the judge who scored the fight 116-112 in favor of Beterbiev. He labeled his client's performance as a 'masterclass' and spoke about him possibly being the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
"I don't want to disrespect Artur Beterbiev and his team because they are just incredible fighters. But, I find it sickening that after a lifetime of hard work, Dmitry Bivol is not undisputed champion tonight. He won that fight. I struggled to find anybody on our row, the row behind, on the TV rows, who didn't score the fight to Dmitry Bivol. To find a judge give that fight 116-112 and give Dmitry Bivol four rounds in that fight, this judge should never would in the sport again... [Bivol] don't deserve that after that performance. It was an absolute boxing masterclass. It was the perfect performance... Dmitry Bivol, for me, arguably pound-for-pound number in this sport."
