Elon Musk gives one-word reaction to Joe Rogan's podcast guest’s criticism of NATO's 'Tanks to Tweets' doctrine
Elon Musk reacted to Joe Rogan's podcast guest, Mike Benz, ridiculing NATO for weaponizing social media.
Earlier this week, Rogan released episode #2237 of the Joe Rogan Experience featuring former U.S. Department of State official Mike Benz. The legendary podcaster and Benz discussed various topics, including foreign policy, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, censorship, and more.
During the conversation, Benz had a say about how NATO utilized social media to allegedly support censorship:
"NATO formally declared the tanks-to-tweets doctrine saying that the new role of NATO is no longer just about tanks, it's about controlling tweets. And then Brexit happened in June 2016, and July 2016, the very next month in Warsaw, NATO added hybrid warfare to its formal charter, basically authorizing the military, the diplomatic sphere and the intelligence world to take control over social media and then five months later, Trump won the election being called a Russian asset." Benz later provided proof on X by posting a video of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte saying this at a headquarters meeting in May 2019:
"NATO must remain prepared for both conventional and hybrid threats from Tanks to Tweets"
Before playing the video, Benz mocked Rutte by saying this as his interpretation of what the NATO Secretary General was announcing:
"Yes, hello, I am here to announce NATO is going to take over Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Discord, and Reddit. Any questions?"
Musk reacted to Benz's previously mentioned video on X by saying:
"Outrageous"

Joe Rogan's podcast guest ridicules Joe Biden's administration for censorship
In early November, Joe Rogan officially endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections. Trump later defeated Kamala Harris in a landslide victory, with many people believing Rogan's support was significantly beneficial.
During JRE episode #2234, Marc Andreessen had this to say to Rogan about current U.S. President Joe Biden's administration:
"The Biden White House was directly exerting censorship pressure on American companies to sensor American citizens. I think is just flatly illegal. I think it's actually subject to criminal charges." [7:11]
On Jan. 20, 2025, Trump will officially be inaugurated as the 47th U.S. President.
