Elon Musk reacts to Joe Rogan's take on Donald Trump collaboration 'terrifying' establishment

Popular MMA personality Joe Rogan says that the powers-that-be are "terrified" of the new-found union between US presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump and Tesla CEO and inventor Elon Musk.

In a podcast episode of the Joe Rogan Experience featuring former Navy Seal and CIA contractor Shawn Ryan, Rogan explained what the alliance between the former president and the famous businessman means to the current US government, led by democratic president Joe Biden.

Rogan said:

"I think they're [current US administration] are really terrified about Donald Trump. It's not necessarily even that he's a republican. It's much more that he's a guy that is not going to play the game... One of the things that he's talked about is having Elon [Musk] come in and do some sort of government efficiency agency. They're terrified of that... He [Musk] is going to come in with like, that Tesla mindset.

Rogan and Ryan went on to speculate that Musk might do the same thing with the US government that he did with X, where he shaved off 80% of the company to be more efficient with the business.

KanekoaTheGreat posted a clip of the conversation on X:

Musk himself retweeted the video with the caption:

"I hope I am able to serve the people in this regard. It is sorely needed."

Joe Rogan lauds Elon Musk's idea of making the US government more efficient

Around the same time he interviewed Shawn Ryan, Joe Rogan also had venture capitalist and engineer Chamath Palihapitiya over in a separate episode. In his conversation with Palihapitiya, Rogan also spoke about Elon Musk's idea of making the government more efficient, akin to how he did with X.

Rogan said (via Joe Rogan Podcast):

"One of the things that I thought was extraordinary that Elon was getting pushed back on was his idea of making the government more efficient. And that auditing the various programs and finding out how to make them more efficient. A lot of people really freaked out about that."

Rogan continued:

"The main argument from the intelligent people that I saw was, 'What are you gonna do? Are you gonna fire all these people that are in charge of the government?' I don't think that's the answer for an ineffective government is to let the same people do the same thing because otherwise you have to fire them."

Rogan then compared what Musk's SpaceX accomplished in such a short time as compared to what government agencies like NASA have been trying to achieve for generations.
