Elon Musk throws shade at YouTube as Joe Rogan uploads viral Donald Trump podcast on Musk's $44 billion acquisition
Elon Musk recently threw shade on YouTube after Donald Trump's largely historic appearance at the Joe Rogan Experience got re-uploaded by Joe Rogan on X. This is due to YouTube experiencing some "technical issues" with people reportedly having a hard time searching for the insanely popular three-hour podcast episode.
Because of this, the MMA commentator and podcasting pioneer decided to use his friend Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition, X, to reshare the video for a wider audience availability. Sharing the episode, Rogan wrote:
"Since there's an issue with searching for this episode on YouTube here is the full podcast with Trump"

Meanwhile, Musk also re-uploaded the podcast with the caption:
"Full episode of @JoeRogan & @realDonaldTrump available on 𝕏! YouTube experienced some uh … technical difficulties 🙄"
The video reached 33 million views on YouTube in just two days, already ranking in the top five most-viewed JRE episodes. With the video now hitting 38 million views on its third day, it's primed to be not just the most viewed JRE episode ever, but it might just rank as one of the most viewed YouTube videos of all time.
Donald Trump's episode surpasses Elon Musk's as second-most viewed JRE episode ever, Joe Rogan denies censorship rumors
As of this writing, Joe Rogan Experience episode #2219 featuring Donald Trump has surpassed Elon Musk's episode (#1470, 34 million views) and tied with the Edward Snowden episode (#1368, 38 million views) as the second-most viewed JRE episode ever. The only episode ahead of it is episode #1315 featuring Bob Lazar and Jeremy Corbell, who spoke largely about Area 51.
Even with the video's meteoric rise in the views counter, people reported that it wasn't trending or appearing on the first page of every search result. This started happening sometime in the first 48 hours of the initial upload.
YouTube users cried foul as the failure of the video to rank high may have been caused by YouTube's censorship. However, Joe Rogan himself cleared the air and explained why the episode wasn't searchable for some time:
"There is no issue with YouTube censoring the trump episode. It was just supposed to go live on both Spotify and YouTube at the same time and there was a glitch in Spotify’s upload system and so we delisted the YouTube link until it’s fixed. It should be fine now"
