“English is very important for me these days” – Thai megastar Stamp says her language skills are improving drastically
As Stamp Fairtex's star continues to rise, the reigning ONE atomweight MMA world champion is focusing on improving her English to better communicate with fans from around the world.
Returning to the Circle on Friday, June 7, Stamp will put her atomweight MMA strap on the line for the very first time when she meets friend and former training partner Denice Zamboanga in the ONE 167 main event.
Speaking with ONE Championship ahead of her highly anticipated title defense inside Bangkok's Impact Arena, Stamp spoke about her second-language acquisition and what she hopes to accomplish by learning English.
“It’s important for me to learn English because I will be able to communicate with foreigners and understand more. I know that English is very important for me these days."
Stamp goes into ONE 167 riding a four-fight win streak, including her atomweight title-winning performance against Ham Seo Hee at ONE Fight Night 14 in September. Should she leave the event with her 26 pounds of gold intact, she'll have the chance to become a two-division world champion later this year.
ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 167 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 7.
