"Establish myself in this organization" - Diego Paez sees Johan Ghazali bout as perfect shot at redemption

Colombian-American striker Diego Paez is eager to start his revenge tour in ONE Championship against Johan Ghazali in their scheduled flyweight Muay Thai battle on June 6 at ONE Fight Night 32 in front of the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Paez was asked by Nick Atkin in his pre-fight interview if he wants to make up for his promotional debut loss to rival Sean Climaco in a close split decision result and make his mark under the world's largest martial arts organization.

He replied:

"Yeah, definitely want to make up for that. You know, establish myself in this organization, and I think what better fight to do it on than this matchup."

The 31-year-old veteran believes that Johan is the perfect opponent for his redemption, especially since he's one of the most popular athletes on the roster with a considerable following.

Diego Paez says that his sole focus is to get the victory against Johan Ghazali and not the fights that can come after it

The Classic Fight Team standout said that he doesn't care about the fights that can happen once he gets past 'Jojo,' because his focus is fully on this upcoming match against the Malaysian-American phenom and how he can get his hands raised once the bout ends.

Diego Paez shared this during his recent talk with ONE Championship, as he declared:

"To me, I don't like to put too much pressure on what's to come after. I just want to focus on the goal at hand to get the victory. And from there, we can move forward."

North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can watch all the action live at ONE Fight Night 32 on June 6, which will take place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
