“Even in the last round, I can knock him out” - Aung La N Sang says he’ll be on the hunt for a finish until the end vs Shamil Erdogan
Aung La N Sang is confident that his conditioning will provide him an opportunity to finish Shamil Erdogan later in their fight.
At ONE 168: Denver, Aung La looks to take another step toward securing a middleweight MMA title shot. The former two-division world champion's latest challenge is against the undefeated and confident Erdogan.
Aung La vs Erdogan has the makings of a back-and-forth battle that could be decided in round three. 'The Burmese Python' mentioned the possibility of the fight going into deep waters during a video posted on his YouTube channel, which showcased his preparations for ONE 168: Denver:
"When I go in there and fight, I know that my strength, my condition will be there. This will help me stay sharp. Even in the last round, I can knock him out. I can keep fighting and keep scrambling."
ONE 168 goes down inside the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Tickets for Friday's event, which is headlined by Jonathan Haggerty defending his bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Superlek, can be found on Ticketmaster.

Aung La N Sang plans to silence Shamil Erdogan
Aung La N Sang has fought under the ONE Championship banner nineteen times, including several all-time promotional classics. At 39 years old, the Myanmar native plans to add another world title to his resume that already features a run as the middleweight and light heavyweight king.
Aung La is coming off finishes against Yushin Okami (first-round knockout), Gilberto Galvao (first-round knockout), and Fan Rong (second-round submission).
Meanwhile, Shamil Erdogan has the undeniable confidence that comes with being an undefeated fighter. In June 2023, the Turkish middleweight made his ONE Championship debut and knocked out Fan Rong in round two.
Erdogan has arguably underestimated Aung La throughout the ONE 168: Denver buildup, even claiming he's an "easy fight." On Friday, 'The Burmese Python' has an opportunity to silence his undefeated opponent and potentially earn a title shot.
