“Everyone I’ve fought has heavier punches” - Superbon on Jo Nattawut’s KO power ahead of ONE Friday Fights 81 war
Current interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon has fought a lot of great fighters, and he's pretty sure they all hit a hell of a lot harder than 'Smokin'' Jo Nattawut.
After an interim title-winning performance in his last appearance, Superbon returns to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday night. He will lock horns with Nattawut in a highly anticipated Muay Thai clash
The two combat sports icons will headline a loaded ONE Friday Fights 81 card airing live on pay-per-view.
Offering his honest thoughts on Nattawut's power, the Thai superstar appeared more than confident in his ability to handle anything 'Smokin'' Jo throws his way:
“I think everyone I’ve fought has heavier punches than Jo," he told ONE Championship in a recent interview. "I’m confident that I can handle them.”
Needless to say, Superbon doesn't think much of his next opponent.
It will be the interim kickboxing king's second time competing in the art of eight limbs under the ONE banner, the first coming against two-time Jo Nattawut opponent Tawanchai at ONE Friday Fights 46 in December 2023.
While Superbon doesn't have much respect for Jo Nattawut's power or skill set, especially when compared to his own, he has nothing but respect for the experience that his fellow countryman has amassed. He said:
"Jo is an all-around fighter. He can throw attacks continuously and is a veteran in the ring," he added. "He has fought many big names like Giorgio Petrosyan, Regian Eersel, and Chingiz Allazov."
Overall, Jo Nattawut is 72-12 in his career with six of his wins coming in ONE Championship. Along the way, he's picked up victories against the likes of former WMC Muay Thai world champion George Mann, Samy Sana, Yurik Davtyan, and Luke Lessei.
Will 'Smokin'' Jo bag the biggest win of his career thus far, or will Superbon add another dominant win to his illustrious resume?
ONE Friday Fights 81 will air live and exclusively on pay-per-view on Friday, Sept. 27 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. You can purchase the event exclusively on the official ONE Championship website.
