“Everything is readily available” - Alexis Nicolas says decision to finish fight camp in Thailand has worked in his favor

ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion Alexis Nicolas talked about his decision to finish his latest training camp in Thailand.

On April 5, Nicolas changed his life for the better when he challenged Regian Eersel for his lightweight kickboxing strap. 'Barboza' silenced the doubters and secured an upset win by unanimous decision against one of the greatest fighters to compete under the ONE Championship banner.

Early next month, Oct. 4, Nicolas and Eersel will meet again inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. While preparing for ONE Fight Night 25, the lightweight kickboxing world champion traveled to Thailand for his training camp, a decision he explained during an interview with Phuket Fight Club:

"It’s completely different. Training here in Thailand, everything is readily available and happens quickly. I use a scooter to get around and they take care of me at the training center. The only issue is that it's now the raining season."

Nicolas followed up by saying:

"It's not as convenient as it is during the peak season. But besides that, everything is good, including the adapted diet. I can manage my nutrition better here and everything [has been] going smoothly."

Before fighting Eersel, Alexis Nicolas made his ONE Championship debut. Nicolas looked impressive against Magomed Magomedov at ONE Friday Fights 47, leading to his legendary win against Regian Eersel.

Alexis Nicolas looks for another legacy-defining win against Regian Eersel

There weren't many people who predicted that Alexis Nicolas would defeat Regian Eersel for the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title. With that said, Nicolas capitalized on the moment and quickly solidified himself as a world-class striker.

At ONE Fight Night 25, Nicolas has another challenge to overcome in the rematch. There could be questions about whether his first win against Eersel was a fluke another impressive five-round performance would clear any remaining doubt.

ONE Fight Night 25, including Nicolas vs Eersel II and other intriguing matchups, can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
