Ex-UFC champ quite surprised by Mike Tyson not 'getting off at all' against "big a**" Jake Paul
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar recently shared his thoughts on the controversial Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight and revealed his disbelief at Tyson's inability to land any significant shots on Paul. Despite the resistance from several boxing fans surrounding the match, many hoped Tyson could pull off a victory with a knockout blow. However, Edgar noted that Tyson seemed unable to "get off at all" during the fight.
Reacting to the fight in a recent interview on the Overdogs Podcast, Edgar acknowledged the significant size and age difference between Paul and Tyson. While Edgar had initially expected Paul to win, a part of him still believed Tyson could land a devastating blow. The fight ultimately saw Paul dominate and win the contest by unanimous decision.
Speaking about the contest, Edgar said:
"I mean it was like you know tough to see because like everybody... I don't know about everybody but you know all of us that that grew up on Mike [Tyson] had that glimmer of hope that maybe Mike could land something. I mean realistically I knew Jake was 30 years younger. He's a big-as* dude, hits hard... I figured Jake was gonna win but part of me is like maybe Mike can get off something. But he couldn't even get off at all. That was just a little surprising."

When Dana White previewed a clash between Canelo Alvarez and Jake Paul
Following his recent victory against Mike Tyson, Jake Paul has been lobbying for a fight against Canelo Alvarez.
Dana White, who hasn't been on favorable terms with Paul, has expressed his doubts about the American's chances against Alvarez, suggesting the fight would be a quick payday for the Mexican boxing star.
White highlighted Paul’s record of defeating lesser opponents, such as internet celebrities and aging MMA stars. Despite Paul’s ambition to challenge Canelo, who is regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters, White believes the fight would end quickly.
Speaking in an episode of sports podcast Club Shay Shay, White said:
“People talk s**t and say whatever it is that they want to say, but look Canelo is still the man. He jumps in there and he does it, he goes to work and it’s hard to stay at that level for a very long time. What’s this guy clipping? $40million a fight? It would be a f***ing 30-second payday for Canelo [against Paul]. I don’t know why Canelo wouldn’t do it. Canelo can fight real guys, keep his credibility intact, and still make that kind of money."
