Ex-UFC fighter chimes into Paddy Pimblett vs. Ariel Helwani feud with a valid point

Paddy Pimblett and Ariel Helwani engaged in a war of words earlier this week following comments made by the Scouser on a recent episode of his podcast.

'The Baddy' claimed that Helwani tried to persuade him to cancel an incentivized interview so that he could appear on the reporter's show, The MMA Hour.

Helwani's response included strong evidence that it was Pimblett and his manager who asked the reporter for money in exchange for an interview. This has led to several fighters like Al Iaquinta making witty comments on Twitter like:

"I wonder how much would paddy charge joe Rogan for a podcast"

Paddy Pimblett even made a joke regarding the ongoing feud between him and Ariel Helwani when he was interviewed by Joe Rogan in the cage following his UFC 282 victory over Jared Gordon:

"But do you know what, Joe? Have you consulted my manager and seen how much you're gonna be paying me for this interview? Ay?"

Pimblett seemed to make light of the situation during his post-fight interview. However, the Scouser's allegations and Helwani's subsequent response have caused quite a stir amongst the MMA community.

BT Sport pundits Adam Catterall and Nick Peet, as well as UFC fighter Sean O'Malley, have all spoken about the ongoing feud. Both parties agreed that it seemed odd to request payment in return for an interview and confessed to never having operated in that fashion before.

Paddy Pimblett doubles down on controversial win over Jared Gordon

Paddy Pimblett won a controversial decision against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 to extend his run in the promotion to 4-0. Fans and fighters alike felt that 'Flash' had won the fight. However, 'The Baddy' stated that the fight "wasn't even close" while talking to Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview.

Pimblett reiterated his belief when he appeared in front of the media for his post-fight press conference:

"Everyone's got an opinion lad. Opinions are [like] a**holes, everyone's got one. I know I won that fight, simple as. I deal in facts lad. I won a unanimous decision, it wasn't even a split decision. Look at his face and look at mine, fights get scored on damage now. I landed more damage, end of."
